Our Why
Our Why
Black Girls Heal is a collective response to lift girls up in the wake of THREE unprecedented "major public health crisis" as defined by the CDC: Covid-19, gun violence, and most recently – racism.

Black and Brown children have endured a distinctive kind of trauma since the pandemic as many were living in a state of emergency long before March of 2020. Compounding the issue, BIPOC communities have long experienced structural, social, and economic inequity. Yet Black youth are less likely to receive treatment and access to wellness
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
This project will inspire girls to share, connect and address their specific experiences and needs in a safe space that fosters vulnerability, resilience and strength. Black Girls Heal will provide vital connections, resources, and skills to combat the rising social isolation, academic challenges, suicide rate and mental health crisis, specifically facing pre-teens and teens of Color.
